Proper nutrition and a balanced diet are indispensable in protecting our minds and bodies against disease. Today’s doctors can diagnose ailments, treat illnesses and dispense drugs, but according to a report by the Harvard Law School in their Food Law and Policy Clinic, less than 1% of medical student’s lecture hours are dedicated to nutrition, and even less in preventative care.
The FDA, the agency tasked with protecting public health, vigorously maintains that America has the healthiest food in the world, but recent studies conclude that 170 to 230 million Americans could be living with one or more chronic conditions by 2030. Moreover, our lifespans are the shortest among affluent nations. Forbes states that Americans spend the most on health care, but rank last in overall health among developed nations.
What is making Americans so sick? Why are 9 out of 10 seniors on prescription drugs? According to Harvard’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health, processed foods make up the bulk of the American diet and are among the major culprits. Worldwide, processed foods account for 25%-60% of a person’s daily energy intake.
Media Medical News recognizes that processed foods are made to taste good, look attractive, and are often inexpensive. A study involving 100,000 adults found that eating 10% more processed foods was associated with a more than 10% risk of cardiovascular disease, coronary heart disease and other serious afflictions. Another study involving 20,000 adults, each eating more than 4 servings of processed foods daily, found that for each additional serving there was a marked increase in obesity and the mortality risk increased by 18%.
Containing less dietary fiber and vitamins than whole foods, processed foods tend to be high in sugar, sodium, refined carbohydrates and trans fats. Many are banned in over 30 countries because they are also laced with dyes, preservatives, herbicides, toxic flavorings, waxes and pesticides. 90% of our commercial fruits and vegetables test positive for residue from two or more of the over 100 varieties of pesticides in use. A partial list of banned products include Ritz Crackers, Twinkies, Pancake Mix, Macaroni and Cheese, Stove Top Stuffing, Coffee Creamer, Cooking Oils, Salad Dressings, Pre-Packaged Ground Beef, Farmed Salmon, Skittles, Milk, Mountain Dew, Fruit Loops, Gatorade, Wheat Thins, Frosted Flakes, M&Ms, Chewing Gum, Popsicles and Ketchup. NIH states that corn, commonly sprayed with atrazine, is linked to birth defects and banned in 44 countries. What does manage to get banned in America is conscientious doctors speaking up about what is really happening to us because they fear losing their medical licenses.
NPR confirms that there is a revolving door at the FDA and more than 25% of their employees who approved cancer and hematology drugs from 2001 through 2010 left the agency and now work or consult for the pharmaceutical industry. Duly noted, the FDA is often staffed by executives from Big Pharma and the large food conglomerates, and vice-versa.
According to WHO, the FDA also exaggerates or hides safety data, bribes prescribers and seeks approval shortcuts. The FDA claims to protect public health, but in actuality it often places corporate profits above consumer safety. Ignoring warnings from both independent scientists and their own review panels, the FDA approved carcinogenic sweeteners such as saccharin, aspartame, and sucralose, while banning the natural herb stevia because it would cut into industry profits.
The FDA has moved from an entirely taxpayer-funded entity to getting nearly 50% of their budget from user fees paid by the very companies seeking approval for the products we consume. Many government officials protect these companies, because that is where a good portion of their campaign contributions come from.
Many unsuspecting Americans are deceived when the word science is loosely bandied about, but Mises Institute news wire states that Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson pled guilty to “misbranding with the intent to defraud or mislead” and paying kickbacks to health care providers to induce them to prescribe [their] drugs. They were fined billions of dollars and then settled another lawsuit for manipulating studies and suppressing negative findings. Clinical trials of an Alzheimer’s drug was approved in a faulty study with the FDA voting 10-0 to approve the drug anyway, causing three committee members to resign. Even though Moderna received over $6 billion from the U.S. government for vaccine research, they had never developed an approved drug at the time. This brief list of scientific deception is supported by a growing number of studies with volumes of disturbing data.
Science Advisor tracked 107 FDA advisors and found that 62% received money from related drug makers, with 25% receiving over $100,000 and 6% receiving over $1 million. It only takes a few corrupt advisors to fix a panel and feign medical consensus.
Studies on primitive societies that don’t eat processed foods show that they don’t suffer from our common diseases. When civilization encroaches upon these cultures, and when their traditional natural diets are replaced by processed foods, their incidence of disease increases proportionately.
You would think that the mounting studies that expose the fraud would be shouted from the rooftops. The fact that much of the media is controlled by many of the same people that control the FDA and the food conglomerates, makes me wonder, what else is being hidden. The solution is rather simple. We stop the sickness, disease and needless death when we stop buying processed food.
Human bodies are very resilient chemical factories. Every cell is composed of the same elements as the universe about us, namely water, fire, earth and air. Water manifests as saliva, digestive juices, mucous, urine and blood. Fire heats our bodies at 98.6 degrees, helps us digest food, and controls our metabolic rates and enzyme systems. Earth is the solid substance upon which all the other elements cling, namely muscle, tissue, skin, bones, hair, nails, tendons and cartilage. There is also air within the body, which we inhale and exhale continually through our lungs. Air also moves in our bodies in the form of gas. When a scientist examines cells under a microscope, they find they too are moved about by gas, like tiny planets within a universe unseen and undetected by our senses. When the body dies, all the elements disperse back into nature and return to their natural state. It stands to reason that we should eat naturally, as like feeds like. We don’t put olive oil into the gas tank of our car because the car is made to run on gasoline. Similarly, the body is made to run on natural elements and not on man-made chemicals and unnatural composites. It is hard, if not impossible, to maintain a healthy body while we continue to eat processed foods.
